My name is Megan Weir. I am an Equine Assisted Learning facilitator. As a rancher, horses have played a major role in my life, as we use them for cattle work. I was blessed to have a father who stressed the importance of natural horsemanship and what’s taught and heavily influenced by Ray Hunt. Naturally, these skills were part of my upbringing and are still part of my life long journey of learning.
Although I can say I am blessed beyond imagination with a husband, three kids and a job I love, I am not immune to the pain and traumas that life brings. Several years ago, life knocked me down hard. I often felt isolated, alone, and hopeless. There were days when I didn’t feel like I would ever crawl out of my despair. While counselling played a significant role in my journey, faith and horses had the most impact on my healing.
It was then that I felt a calling to share the gift that these magnificent creatures possess. They have the ability to bring out the best in us, and reconnect us with our authentic selves. They are the greatest teachers I have ever known. They are honest, consistent, and do not judge, allowing us to just “be”.
It is such an honour to facilitate you as you journey toward healing, empowerment, and authenticity with these magnificent animals.
